Where does tea come from?

All tea, whether it be white, green, black, oolong or pu’erh, comes from the same plant called the Camelia Sinensis plant. This plant is native to China but is now cultivated throughout the world primarily in China, Japan, and India. The type of processing that the plant goes through, the amount of oxidation to the leaf, will shape what style of tea is produced. Tea is very much like wine in the fact that the growing conditions will shape the flavor profile of the tea.
